From Matelot to Muse, John has been through many life experiences, and his ability to see things from a poetic standpoint, along with his Christian faith have combined to give him a perspective on life that most of us miss. John, a retired Chief Petty Officer, is a husband to Caroline, a father, a grandfather, a teacher and a very gentle and encouraging man.

John has been writing poetry of many forms for many years now. Some written for special occasions, some to reflect truths of his Christian faith and some to reflect where he is at a given time. His use of humour brings the words and concepts alive and brings reality into our souls, even as we chuckle.

John is presently deputy warden at the Harnhill Centre of Christian Healing and his poetry is much valued for its teaching and worship content. Our residents, I know, will want to get their hands on any anthology of his poetry!
